Two Promo CD albums with very similarly designed covers got to me recently. First it is unclear, who hides behind the pseudonym MarryAnn. It is not so obviously, because the music on both albums sounds absolutely typical for a one man band, or maybe one woman band. Now, indeed, one could suppose a key woman, however, to the descriptions on its own homepage (www.marryann.com) is to be taken that it probably concerns a male Keyboarder. Nevertheless, the origin is more unambiguous, because MarryAnn comes from Slovenia. This is a country, which is rather rarely mentioned in the Progressive News Letter.

MarryAnn describes its music as progressive electronics. But "Progressive" is maybe inappropriate formulation as I understand something else with progressive. And this might be the same for most readers of the PNL.

Inspired of 70's and 80's Synthesizer music, MarryAnn proposes relatively short and brief compositions. The dispersion of the playing times is extremely low on both albums; everything oscillates between 3 and 5 minutes. Thus no wide sequences or large sound cascades are to be expected. Almost every title is put on very harmoniously, and nice melodies are the biggest plus of MarryAnn's works. The sound is very warm and emits a positive tonic. …
